Dr. Madhu Sreedharan did his MBBS & MD in Internal Medicine from the Prestigious JIPMER, Pondicherry. He subsequently did his DM in Cardiology from the Medical College, Trivandrum. Following this he went abroad and did MRCP from the Royal College of Physicians of London and did Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology from the Royal Adelaide Hospital, South Australia. He came back to India and worked as a consultant in Cardiology at the Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences at Whitefield for 3 years – this probably being the only hospital where the most advanced medical treatment is being given completely free of cost to the needy – irrespective of colour, caste or creed. He subsequently joined the NIMS Heart Foundation as its director since its inception in 2007. Dr. Madhu Sreedharan is a high volume interventional cardiologist, having done more than 6500 therapeutic procedures and more than 17,000 diagnostic cardiac catheterizations with excellent results. Complex coronary interventions, devices for arrhythmias and structural heart diseases are done routinely with success rates comparable to the best in the country.
