NIMS Medicity Joins Hands with Sakshama to Provide Free Home Physiotherapy Services
In an initiative focused on extending healthcare support to people who have difficulty accessing hospital-based treatment, NIMS Medicity has joined hands with Sakshama Neyyattinkara Taluk Committee to provide free physiotherapy services at patients’ homes. The initiative is being carried out through the Dheemahi Home Physiotherapy Unit, which aims to bring essential physiotherapy care directly to bedridden patients and individuals who require special attention.
For many patients living with physical limitations, reaching a hospital for regular treatment can be a major challenge. Physical weakness, financial difficulties and limited mobility can prevent them from accessing the care they need. Recognising these challenges, NIMS Medicity and Sakshama have come together to extend physiotherapy support to eligible patients in the comfort of their homes.
NIMS Medicity Physiotherapy Team to Lead the Initiative
The home physiotherapy services will be carried out under the supervision of Dr. Jim Gopalakrishnan, Head of the Physiotherapy Department at NIMS Medicity. A team of qualified doctors and physiotherapists from the department will take responsibility for delivering the services as part of this initiative.
By bringing physiotherapy care to patients’ homes, the programme aims to reduce the difficulties faced by people who cannot travel for treatment. It also provides an opportunity for patients requiring special attention to receive professional physiotherapy support without having to make repeated journeys to a hospital.
Encouraging a Healthier Future for Young People
The initiative highlights NIMS Medicity’s commitment to making healthcare more accessible to people facing physical and financial difficulties. For bedridden patients and individuals with limited mobility, receiving physiotherapy at home can reduce the challenges of travelling to a hospital for regular treatment.
Through the Dheemahi Home Physiotherapy Unit, NIMS Medicity aims to extend professional physiotherapy support to patients who are unable to access hospital-based care.
This initiative reflects NIMS Medicity’s commitment to community welfare by bringing free home physiotherapy services to underprivileged patients who need them most.
