Rev’d. Vinod Victor
Dear Dr. Cherian Jacob
This I write to share some very positive impressions of our experience with NIMS last week
despite the loss of life of a very dear one in our family. It was in a very critical situation that Dr. John Zachariah of Benzigar Kollam referred Rev. S. Israel to you because of the immense confidence the patient had in the doctor who treated him through the amputation a decade ago and getting him back to normal life. The warm and cordial reception at the hospital- special thanks also to Sonu S S, a dear friend and the PRO, a wonderful treatment experience that almost brought Rev. Israel back to his normal self thinking about the future with hope, a good staff team ambience including demeanour and grooming and an overall setting that made interactions very easy, all these are worth a commendation. In God’s time when Rev. Israel suffered cardiac unrest, the way the ventilation system was used, how unobtrusively the ICU privacy was maintained without intimidating the families, how the family was kept in the loop about the developments, how lucidly the DNR order was communicated, how the entire family was made part of the important decision about death- the ultimate healing and how prayers were allowed by the entire family before the ventilation support was discontinued- all these created a very positive impression which I though must be communicated. I was also particularly impressed by the dignity with which the mortal remains of the deceased was treated at the hospital and the mortuary. Most lasting of the impressions was the presence of your good self at the burial which is a rarest of the rare phenomenon. The Rev. S. Israel was a given a very dignified farewell. Hundred paid him homage at the public viewing at the LMS Compound, his residence in Thalavoor and at the burial service at the CSI Church Thalavoor led by Bishop Oommen George.
May you and the hospital continue to be a channel of healing to many more people and may all of
them leave with very positive impressions. Kindly convey my sincere appreciation to Dr. Allwyn
the unit chief and all the staff members who were part of this experience of ours with a hospital
With every good wish and prayers.
Chair of AsiaCMS and Vicar of CSI Holy Trinity.
