The 3rd remembrance day of Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was commemorated at NIMS Medicity today (27-07-18).

Mr. Kadakampally Surendran, Hon. Minister of Cooperation, Tourism and Devaswom inaugurated, Dr A.P. Majeed Khan lighted the ceremonial lamp, Mr. C.K. Hareendaran, MLA Presided, Mr. M.S. Faizal Khan gave the introductory speech, Mr. N. Sakthan, former speaker, honored the outstanding achievers, Dr. D. Babu Paul IAS, honored the the campus placed students , Shri. Jacob Punnoose IPS, honored the Heads/Principals of NI Group of Institutions – Dr. P. Raghavan, Joint Registrar, University of Kerala, Honored the PhD awardees, Shri. M.Nandakumar, IAS, honored the staff achievers, Shri. M.K. Zulfiqer, Assistant Commissioner of Police administered the oath, Manchanthala Suresh BJP Mandalam Vice-President and Adv Vinod Sen, Editor Swadeshabhimani News offered the felicitations.

During his address Mr Kadakampally Surendran termed the NI Group of institutions as “the ones radiating the shining rays of knowledge for decades”.

Dr Babu Paul IAS appealed the campus placed students to “understand the heavy responsibility vested up on them as the future policy makers and reminded them that the future of India is in their hands”.

Mr. M.S. Faizal Khan insisted that the books of Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam needs to be read in-depth by every youth. He also pointed out that Dr Kalam always appreciated others for their positive actions and ignored the negative acts and he always guided us to shed the ego and move forward with a positive vibe.

Mr Jacob Punnose IPS, reminded the youth that in the 16thCentury India was one of the richest country and due to the invasion and looting by foreigners we became a poor country by 18th century. He felt that the Indians at that time never resisted these invasions and did not try to explore other places. He appealed to the youth to be vigilant and not to be happy with what we have and work hard for further prosperity.
